This year, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia celebrates its 75th anniversary: the jubilee events will take place on October 17-18. Today, the RA Minister of Education and Science, Araik Harutyunyan, has had a meeting on a number of organizational issues and future plans with a delegation headed by the President of the NAS, Radik Martirosyan. It has been reported that in order for the above mentioned works to proceed properly, a commission, headed by the Minister of Education and Science, will be formed. According to the preliminary agenda of events, a solemn jubilee presentation, held in the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after Alexander Spendiaryan, a reception by the Government of the Republic and other activities are scheduled. Guests from abroad – delegations of the Academies of Sciences and of the leading research centers of numerous countries – will discuss issues of cooperation between NAS RA and foreign academies and scientific centers, and will visit cutting-edge educational and cultural centers. During the meeting, discussions will be held in Yerevan on October 15 and 16 to discuss organizational issues regarding the forum of scientists in the CIS countries. At the conclusion of the meeting, Radik Martirosyan commanded very highly the accomplishments of the RA Ministry of Education and Science and the Committee of Science and Higher Competencies, stressing that the Academy is content with the results of that cooperation.
