The anniversary exhibition dedicated to the 100-th anniversary of the artist Arpenik Nalbandian to open

On October 28, 2016 at 15:00 the National Gallery of Armenia will host the anniversary exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the artist Arpenik Nalbandian.

The exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Arpenik Nalbandian encompasses artworks of various creative periods: about 48 paintings from the collection of the Fund and the National Gallery of Armenia and 17 paintings from the collection of the artist's family.Thanks to the cooperation of the National Gallery with the artist's family 65 works by Nalbandian will be presented to public attention.On the occasion of the anniversary exhibition will also be released an album which includes works by the artist. Arpenik Nalbandian worked in various genres of painting (portrait, landscape, still life), but the portrait has always occupied a dominant place in her art. The artist has created about 300 paintings which are stored at the National Gallery, the Museum of History of Armenia, the family collection and other private collections.

Arpenik Nalbandian was born in 1916 in Georgia, vocational training received in the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. In 1941, after her marriage with the artist Edward Isabekyan A. Nalbandian moved to Yerevan and was involved in the cultural life of the country. Arpenik Nalbandian died in 1964 in Yerevan.
